One Year!

So last Saturday was our one year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has already been a year! It went by so fast!! I guess it is true that time flies when you are having fun!!

For our anniversary, we decided to go on a vacation to the happiest place on Earth, Disney World!! My parents and I used to go there on our annual vacation every year from the time I was 4 until 16..so I guess you could say I know my way around..haha, but it has been a little over 10 years since I was there, and the husband, 14 years! So this was a really exciting trip for us, going together.

We left last Wednesday night, and drove straight through. That would be from New Jersey to Orlando in just under 16 hours. We were super tired but once we got to where we were staying, The Polynesian, we were raring to go! After a quick shower, we hopped on the monorail and headed for the Magic Kingdom! The weather was super super hot, like over 100 degrees everyday, but we still had a blast! We hit all the parks (MK, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) and the Magic Kingdom 3 times.

It certainly was a "magical" trip and we can't wait to go back!! Below are some highlights from the trip!

Just arrived at the Polynesian

So, I think I have stated this before, but I have a slight obsession with craigslist. We recently purchased a bamboo chair/desk and dresser. The chair had a less than desired seat cushion, so I immediately knew I had to get to the fabric store and buy some more "beachy" looking fabric.

My mom and I took a trip Jo-Ann Fabric's. We were walking around for a good 30 minutes, nothing catching my eye, and then in a last run through the back part of the store, I found THE perfect fabric. Oh and it was 75% off. Score!

We are in the middle of painting our downstairs family room. Going from dark wood paneling and like a yellowish wall color to Cilantro..which is like a pale turquoise. And the fabric goes very well with the new wall color as well, so I have some extra fabric for some throw pillows.

Anyway..here is a before and after of the chair:

Still debating whether or not to paint the chair...

Here is just one wall done with one coat of the new color. (As of today, the entire room has been completed..yay!)

Well Hello Again!

I apologize for the very long absence. This summer has been quite busy and how is it the middle of August already??

I will have a couple of posts on what we have been up to for the past month or so..so stay tuned!!

Update on Life!

Hello fellow bloggers!! It has been a while, and I apologize for that.

So, on April 16th I ran my first half marathon! As I thought, it was cold and windy and pretty horrible conditions for running (the entire race is on the boardwalk through 6 towns). But, I did it and even though I was seriously sore for 3 days, I have been thinking about my next half. (Disney Princess half marathon anybody?)

I read BossyPants in 2 days. If you have a girl crush (like I do) on Tina Fey, you need to pick this up, like ASAP.

Easter was a very nice and relaxing holiday. Spent most of the day with my mom. The husband and I also dyed easter eggs and decorated cookies.

(That would be our pug, Roxy, with the special bandana my mom made for her)

Working in a school, I get a whole week off for spring break, which was amazing. One of my really good friends and I took a mini vaca down to Virginia Beach for a few days. The weather wasn't the best, but that didn't really matter because we both needed a vacation like woah.
We even got up at 5am on our last day to watch the Royal Wedding. And can I just say, that I am officially obsessed with all things British and Royal now. I think I need an intervention.
For those of you that watched it, how amazing, right?? Everything was beautiful, especially Kate. And who knew her sister, Pippa, was just as beautiful! (My friends and I are secretly hoping Pippa and Prince Harry hook up). Here are some of my favorite moments from the wedding. (a little out of order)
Prince William and Prince Harry arriving.

The 2nd kiss!

(Pippa the day after...loving this outfit!)

Leaving the church as a married couple!

Love love LOVE

Did you watch the wedding? Thoughts?

April Snow Brings May....??

I left my house yesterday morning and it was raining...as I got closer to work it started to change to ice pellets and then full on snow. Seriously..what is going on here?!?

I hope the weather improves for the next two weeks. April 16th I am running my first Half Marathon, and I really don't feel like running in windy cold weather (like I have been for most of my training).

Woke up today with the sun shining through our windows, so that looks promising!!

xoxo.

Yes please.

During my daily rounds on the blog front, I came across this book on the great preppy blog, Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore.

Because who doesn't want to cook meals with the titles "L.L. Bean", "Pink and Green Quiche", and "Country Club Artichokes" (just to name a few).
